Emerging from the heart of Perth’s heavy music scene, Broken Hymns blend the raw energy of progressive metal with intricate soundscapes and emotionally charged storytelling. Drawing inspiration from bands like Karnivool, Queens of the Stone Age, and Dillinger Escape Plan, the band crafts a dynamic sound that is as hauntingly melodic as it is crushingly intense.

Formed eight years ago, Broken Hymns have solidified their place in the Western Australian heavy music landscape, despite an 18-month hiatus due to a lineup change. Now, with Caleb (vocals/guitar), Alex (guitar), Callum (bass), and Jess (drums), the band has re-emerged stronger than ever.

Following the success of their 2023 single “Cracks in the Sun”, Broken Hymns return with their latest EP, Subservient (released October 18, 2024). The release showcases their signature fusion of brooding atmospheres, complex rhythms, and ferocious intensity—an offering that cements their reputation as one of the most compelling acts in modern prog metal.
